Jane Kurtz Visits Schools in Indonesia and Celebrates her Birthday.
During a visit to
schools in Indonesia Jane was surprised with a birthday celebration,
since she was there on her April birthday. The children had
discovered that connection from reading River Friendly River Wild.
So at the appointed time, the librarian brought out a "cowboy cake"
birthday cake. As surprised as Jane was, she was even more
surprised that it was a "cowboy cake" as she had a childhood connection
with Cowboy Cake. She mentioned that to the librarian who was already
smiling as she also knew the connection from having done her research
in Authors in the Kitchen: Recipes, Stories, and More. A fun surprise for the author.
